We live in a contrasting society. On one hand we ban sexual images and, on the hand, we use them for advertising and selling. Sex seems to subtlety sneak into many facets of our society.
This series of paintings play with the ideas of the sensual sale. The cans also represent the easy access to, quick sex, bigger and better breasts and impersonal body parts.
The comparison with food and sex is another facet of this series. We seem to have created a fast-paced life and fast food and fast sex seem to have become a part of it. The idea of enjoying a slow meal or enjoying a sensual evening is very romantic. The can food/sex is more like opening a can, throwing it into a bowl, microwaving it, and eating it in front of the television.
