Holding Space

Pasted Graphic

Holding space is a visual metaphor for the physical presence we occupy in this lifetime.  We temporarily hold space on this material plane.  We are only molecules flying through space creating the illusions of being solid.

The many pieces were made by squeezing bits of clay in my hands.  This also refers to the title.  As I squeezed the clay it formed in the hollow spaces of my hand.  It became a physical impression the empty spaces.  No matter how tight we hold on to life there is always empty spaces.
